Raked sand in a gentle spiral

Questions & comfort

Navigating your path
to regulation.

Welcome. If you have found your way to this page, chances are your heart is carrying a heavy weight, your mind is seeking answers, and your physical body is simply exhausted. I am so glad you are here.

It takes immense courage to acknowledge when your nervous system is running on empty. Because somatic work and grief facilitation may be new to you, it is completely natural to have questions about how this process works. This space is designed to be a soft place to land. Below, you will find answers to the most common questions about how we can partner together, both in my private Meridian home sanctuary and virtually across the country.

Take your time, breathe, and remember: your healing journey does not have a deadline, and you do not have to walk it alone.

What is somatic work, and how does it help the nervous system?

At its core, “somatic” means relating to the body. While traditional talk therapy focuses on the mind and processing thoughts, somatic work focuses on the felt sensations inside your body to help balance and heal your nervous system. Chronic stress or unresolved trauma can cause the nervous system to get “stuck” in a state of high alert or shutdown. Somatic work uses physical tools, such as intentional breathing, gentle movement, tracking sensations, and targeted tapping, to send a direct message back to your brain: “We are safe right now.” It helps release stored tension, expand your window of tolerance, and rewire your automatic stress responses so your body can return to its natural, calm, and resilient baseline. What does a grief facilitator actually do, and how can they help me?

A grief facilitator is a compassionate guide who helps you navigate the messy, non-linear, and often overwhelming landscape of loss. Grief can feel incredibly isolating, and well-meaning friends or family often don’t know what to say. A facilitator does not try to “fix” your pain or rush you through a timeline; instead, they create a deeply safe, judgment-free space for you to honor whatever you are feeling, whether that is intense sadness, anger, confusion, or even guilt. Through gentle guidance, a facilitator helps you process the emotional and physical weight of your loss, gives you practical tools to cope when the waves of grief feel too heavy, and supports you as you figure out how to carry your love and your loss forward into your daily life.

Do you work with clients of all genders?

Yes, I gladly welcome clients of all genders to my practice. To best support everyone, I offer two different avenues for our sessions. In-person sessions: my physical practice is located in a private home sanctuary space that is exclusively dedicated to women, creating an intimate and deeply safe environment for hands-on, somatic healing. Virtual sessions: I warmly welcome men, women, and individuals of all gender identities to experience the exact same deep, transformational work through our remote, online sessions. No matter your gender, my goal is to provide a container of absolute safety, respect, and deep healing.

Do I have to talk about my trauma or loss to get results?

The beautiful answer is no. I am a grief facilitator and somatic practitioner, not a licensed therapist or social worker, so our sessions look very different from traditional talk therapy. The incredible thing about somatic work is that we can talk very little about the actual incident, loss, or trauma itself. You never have to force yourself to verbally re-live the painful details of your past to find relief today. Your body already remembers exactly what happened, and it stores that stress, shock, and grief within your nervous system. Instead of focusing on the story of what happened, we focus entirely on the sensations, tension, and feelings that are actively stored in your body right now. You are completely in control, and your body gets to heal at its own gentle pace.

How does a virtual somatic session over Google Meet actually work?

Step 1: your free 20-minute consultation call. Before booking a full session, you can schedule a free 20-minute phone call. This is a beautiful, pressure-free opportunity for us to connect, establish rapport, and see if we are a genuine match for your healing needs. Step 2: connecting on Google Meet. Once we decide to move forward, we will meet virtually via Google Meet. We will initially talk about your personal goals and what you would most like to accomplish in our time together. Step 3: learning and applying the techniques. While a virtual session doesn’t use the same physical, hands-on touch as an in-person session, it is highly effective. I will expertly guide you through somatic techniques that you apply to your own body. Together, we will practice intentional breathing techniques, deep grounding exercises, and energy pulling. To complement our online work, I will also send tangible worksheets, curated recipes for healing medicinal baths, and continuous email support directly to your mailbox.

What does a “dysregulated” or overstimulated nervous system actually feel like?

For women navigating major life transitions, nervous system overload doesn’t always look like a panic attack. It often shows up as chronic physical and emotional exhaustion. You might feel like you are constantly running on adrenaline, experiencing “brain fog,” having trouble sleeping despite being exhausted, or feeling an underlying sense of dread or irritability. Somatically, it can manifest as a tight chest, a knot in your stomach, or chronic muscle tension. If you feel like your body is permanently stuck in “fight, flight, or freeze” mode, your nervous system is simply asking for dedicated regulation and safety.

I am already seeing a traditional therapist. Can I still do this work with you?

Absolutely. My services beautifully complement traditional talk therapy. While a licensed therapist helps you process your thoughts and understand the “why” behind your grief, my role as a somatic practitioner and grief facilitator is to add focus to your wellness journey and work with and support your current team. It takes a village. I focus purely on helping your physical body integrate and release the heavy emotions that talk therapy brings to light. Many clients find that pairing the two modalities accelerates their healing and brings a profound sense of physical relief.

What if I feel “stuck,” or like my grief is too heavy to move through?

Please know that there is no right or wrong way to grieve, and you cannot do this work incorrectly. Grief is not a linear checklist to be completed; it is a landscape to be honored. If you feel stuck, frozen, or completely overwhelmed, we meet your body exactly where it is in that moment. We do not force or push anything. Sometimes, “moving the energy” simply means sitting together in quiet, grounded safety until your nervous system feels secure enough to let go of just a tiny fraction of the weight it’s carrying.

How long will it take for me to feel better?

Grief has no expiration date. My role isn’t to “fix” you or rush you, but to help expand your capacity to carry the weight of the loss so it doesn’t swallow you whole. Healing is a journey, not a quick fix, and more than one session is highly recommended so that the cumulative effects of nervous system regulation can build a lasting baseline of safety.

My loss happened years ago, or isn’t a death. Is this still for me?

Yes. All loss is real loss. The body holds onto unexpressed grief regardless of how much time has passed or what the specific event was: a divorce, a job loss, a pet, an estrangement, a diagnosis, or an old childhood grief that is only now catching up with you. This is also a space for people who are not grieving at all, but who are stressed, overwhelmed, and in need of nervous system support, reflexology, and a restorative medicinal bath.

Where are you located?

My physical practice is located in a private home sanctuary setting in Meridian, Idaho. Designed with absolute privacy and comfort in mind, the space features a private, discreet entrance so you can enter your session feeling completely secure, relaxed, and at ease. While my in-person sanctuary is reserved exclusively for women in the local area, I gladly conduct virtual sessions for clients of all genders across the entire United States via Google Meet.

What can I expect to experience during and after my first session?

Within a 90-minute session, we are usually able to cover at least two, and sometimes three, distinct modalities tailored to you. Clients routinely leave these initial sessions feeling deeply heard, seen, calm, and physically relaxed. A 4-hour mini-retreat day is a complete physical and emotional reset, including a full reflexology protocol and a medicinal restorative bath; most clients leave feeling completely melted. After leaving your first session, it is common to feel a profound sense of lighter energy, a quieter mind, and a physical release of the heavy weight you have been carrying. See What to Expect.

What do I need to do to prepare for my session, and is there any aftercare?

Arrive exactly as you are. All sessions are paid for ahead of time when booking; wear loose, comfortable clothing that allows easy access to your feet and calves if your session includes reflexology; complete the intake and release of liability forms provided through the website; and hydrate well beforehand. Afterwards, continue hydrating deeply for 24 to 48 hours, because your body keeps processing the session long after you leave.

What is your cancellation or no-show policy?

If you wake up on the day of your appointment and cannot make it, you do not have to cancel: stay in bed and we will transition our time into a comforting phone session. If you are completely unable to attend in any capacity, every client receives one grace session with no charge; cancellations or reschedules with 48 hours’ notice carry no penalty; after your grace session, cancelling with less than 24 hours’ notice (or missing the appointment) incurs a late fee of 50% of the scheduled session price, charged to the card on file.
